I haven't written in a while and i have a lot to talk about so i'll just get started.
1. for those of you that have been e-mailing me at amy@amyhills or using the contact form on this site, i do apologize because we have been having technical problems so i may not have received your e-mail if it was sent within the last month. everything is fixed now so please write me.
2. coming up soonly there will be some changes and upgrades to this site, i will let you know all about them. my friend yoko from the band "the dream bitches" will be helping me get up to speed and make things smoother and more hip (as i am not hip to what the kids like and she is but a pup)
3. that said, i have been unable to update my site for some time and i have upcoming shows that are not listed. some important dates in the next month to note:
a) friday april fools day with cockroach in brooklyn at 9pm...details on the myspace site
b) friday april 8th, singing with kevin waite www.kevinwaite.com
c) saturday april 9th at the Post Crypt at columbia university
d) tuesday april 5th singing with my friend Lu at DTUT 8:30-10:30 , free

4. i have been singing a lot with my friend dan's band COCKROACH, and it has really been a great adventure for me. dan's songwriting is so diferent from mine , and it is so freeing to sing someone elses songs...really takes the pressure off. if you haven't seen us yet you should. we have a myspace site if you are into that at www.myspace.com/cockroach
5. i have decided after much deliberation to stay in the city for a while. i will be moving in may to the trendy east village thanks to my friend hogan, and i am really looking forward to this summer in the city. pelase come and visit.
6. i will start recording something really cool soon and i will tell you all about it when details are finalized. if you have a moment though, i would love to hear what your favorite three amy hills songs are and why. not for selfish reasons...i am trying to make some decisions about what to record or re-record.
7. life never works out the way you think it is going to, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work out. admittedly i am a type a, oldest child, ESTJ, scorpio woman with independence/control issues...but i am learning (slowly)there are some things that are simply beyond my control. i am not convinced that the easter bunny brings me candy so that i can celebrate the ressurection of a man that lived thousands of years ago and died so that i may have eternal life in heaven...i am, however, quite sure that it is no coincidence that i live in a world where hope exists, where people celebrate life, where people forgive eachother, where love just happens, and where occasionally i am not so subtly reminded that none of my daydreaming or planning will make a hillibeans of difference in the end. i guess god or whatever force exists throws me for a loop on occasion to remind me to stop and smell the flowers...i could get hit by a bus tomorrow right? all i have is now.
