i sincerely apologize to those of you that have been anxiously awaiting a new post...i have been out of town and without internet service and blah blah blah...there is so much i need to tell you...how will i fit it all in in the 28 minuteds i have left at this internet cafe? (my first time ever at one of these places...so far it is very pleasant indeed)

First...i should let you know wtht i have a last minute show tomorrow that is not up on my site...at The Sidewalk Cafe on 6th Street and Ave A in Manhattan. I play at 10pm and it is free but you have to buy something so technically it is not free unless you were hungry or thirsty anyway in which case it is just convienent...right? anyway, the guy playing after me is dave deporis although i think he is using a different name now like "dave of the sky " or "dave loves the great blue sky" or something like that. he's brillant..and also totally insane. i suppose the two usually go together.

to briefly catch you up on my life...i quit doing all of the booking and promotions and running the monday night open mic at the sidewalk cafe as soon as the summer antifolk festival ended...i went on vacation...i went to ACL (the austin city limits festival) it totally kicked my butt into gear...since then i have been back in new york playing like a maniac working on getting press and getting out of town gigs and spending enormous amounts of time at engine room audio-recording and mastering studio...making a bit of money but also working on some secret things that you may eventually know about...maybe. i have sold out of my new cd which is pretty cool...i am making more just in time for you to pick some up for christmas presents for your family (hint, hint) i am still in the same apartment and i love it although my landlords are totally nuts. i have been spending a lot of time seeing music and hanging out with friends and you know who you are and i love you.

the lack of internet access at home for a while has really put a damper in my style but it should be up and running again soon and then you won't have to see the old pics and "new album coming soon" stuff...aghhh. quite frustrating.

ACL was so freakin' cool. i totally fell in love with austin texas, and i had great food and i saw so much music. i have also been seeing a lot of good movies as of late..if you haven't seen Garden State yet you should...not only because my friend amy is in it but also because the music is good and it was filmed in my "hood".

ok seventeen minutes...

it's cooling off in new york which means that my windows are open all the time and at night i have to use an extra blanket..it also means that we have oficially entered into my favorite time of year...i love fall..i love sweaters and jeans and tennis shoes and not sweating and crisp air and not only cause i was born during fall...well..actually, maybe that is precisley why...hmmmmm....anyway, what i was going to say was that i am so sick of iced coffee and i really can't wait to get back into my "gimme coffee" soy latte's. deeeeeelish.

my sister recently quit her job...sorry to put her in the spotlight (she hates it when i talk about her) but i really think that for some reason right now my life and the lives of all of the people that i care about the most are totally in this wierd transitory state...the best part of all of it for me is that i'm not making plans. i had to run an errand the other day and there was like five minutes when i couldn't do anything but wait for a phone call and there i was at the brooklyn bridge/city hall area of town, down near J & R Music world and so i went over to this fountain that i saw and just sat down. and there were gas lights...

eight minutes...as you can tell i get a little distracted and there has been quite a bit of sitting and thinking and not so much stream of conciousness typing...

come and visit me if you can. new york is beautiful in the fall. and stop worrying so damn much. you have virtually no control..i mean, your whole life could change in five minutes you know?

i think that is all i feel like saying.

write me

i love you

-amy
